HOPE ASTRONAUT

Hope Astronaut, a band from Olomouc (CZ), was founded in 2009 by singer-songwriter Tomáš Krejčiřík together with Mojmír Havlík (guitars), Jan "Psychyn" Sychra (bass), Radim Zetka (drums) and Kateřina Koutná (cello). They have played numerous gigs with foreign artists (Bee and Flower, David Kitt, Robotnik) as well as Czech bands like Nierika, Fiordmoss and Wotienke.

Tomáš as a solo artist played with well-known singers-songwriters (Žofie Kabelková, James Harries, Alasdair Bouch, Mark Geary, Astronautalis). He also appeared at an Irish festival Live Mic Weekender as a support of Brendan O'Shea, in New York at the Scratcher Sessions together with Michael Brunnock, and in Berlin and Kraków.

In the summer of 2009, part of the band went to Liverpool to record an EP called "In Liverpool" together with Tuomas Hakkarainen, a member of Kaspar from Finland. In 2010, apart from regular gigs, Hope Astronaut played at the supporting program of Febiofest International Film Festival in Prague, at the Students' May Fest in Olomouc, and appeared on Rockle radio program. In 2011, the band released its debut full-length album "Songs for Mirrors" and played gigs in its support, for instance at a charity event Day for Africa. "Anyone Can Shine", one of the songs from the album, was included in the Radio Wave's program Startér. Hope Astronaut plan to release their new album in 2012.
