MOONSHINE
A triptych made by the British choreographer Christopher Bruce. His name in the final credits is not, however, the only thing the three pieces have in common: they all deal with the issue of a retro perspective on pop-folk-rock music scene. All three choreographies were made to music composed in the 20th century. The night will open with a dance opus Dance at the Crossroads created to music of the Irish-Scottish band The Waterboys. With the second piece called Moonshine Bob Dylan's music will resound on stage. The triptych will close with an explosion of energy and the music of the Rolling Stones: the choreography called Rooster.
Dance at the Crossroads
A piece inspired by a life story of a woman, a story that keeps coming back to her in her memories, a story that keeps vibrating the strings that had remained silent for a long time.
Music: The Waterboys, choreography: Christopher Bruce, stage design and costumes: Marian Bruce.
Moonshine
The second part of the night brings Bob Dylan on stage. A quartet of dancers/skirmishers/artists/legerdemainists/comedians... dancers. A group of people who do belong together, yet their mutual relations, emotions and testimonies make for a colourful mosaic.
Music: Bob Dylan, choreography: Christopher Bruce, stage design: Walter Nobbe.
Rooster
The night will close with a piece made to the legendary Rolling Stones‘ music. An explosion of energy and grease in hair will tell you about dandyism, flirting and the art of seduction but also on more silent and intimate moments in our life. A whiff of wind coming from 40 years ago. „To some extent, all this is kind of about the days when I was young,“ explains Christopher Bruce.
Music: Rolling Stones, choreography: Christopher Bruce, stage design and costumes: Marian Bruce.
