PUBLIC PRESENTATION OF RESULTS OF THEATRE WORKSHOP WITH VEIJO BALTZAR

A theatre workshop that was held at Nova Scena of National Theatre from Wednesday, May 30th till Sunday, June 3rd was part of a broader project of Nova scena, entitled Národní divadlo - Divadlo národů (National Theatre - Theatre of the Nations) and participants worked with the outcomes of the preceding litterary workshop (April 2012). more

COCKTAIL 012 - THE BEST OF

The most popular of Laterna magika’s numbers from recent years plus a retro revue. A composed programme includes excerpts from successful pieces that were or still are on Laterna magika’s repertory (the most recently included parts are The Breakneck Ride – the oldest excerpt from Variations created 1963; The Magic Flute, Rendez-vous, Legends of Magic Prague, and other). Besides, the show includes a 30 minutes multimedia piece Code 58.08: a show that goes back to the roots of Laterna magika’s creative technique. more

LEGENDS OF MAGIC PRAGUE

In a new multimedia project the audience is introduced to legends, for which Prague is famous: the tale of the most famous inhabitants of the Faust House - Faust and the English alchymist Edward Kelley; the legend of Chanina, the daughter of a Jewish merchant, who refuses bridegrooms offered her and, drawn by her love of a mysterious Lord of the River Vltava, steps into the river and returns to the roofs of Prague only in the shape of a green cat; the stories of secret meetings between the Emperor Rudolf II and the mystic and great personality of the Jewish culture in Prague - Rabbi Löwe and his homunculus Golem; and last but not least the legend connected with the construction of the Astronomical Clock of the Old Town. more

DYZAJN MARKET & UNITED ISLANDS ČESKÉ SPOŘITELNY

Fiesta festival opens with the ninth edition of Dyzajn Market and the music festival United Islands České spořitelny. On the last June Saturday the piazzeta will host more than seventy designers and a couple of bands. Refreshments will be served by Café Jericho, Café NONA and Homemade Goddies. From 1 pm to 2 pm don't miss a fashion show accompanied live by DJ Martin Mikuláš. The afternoon United Islands programme includes Eliška Ptáčková, Kieslowski, Alasdair Bouch and Travis O´Neill and His Cardinal Sins. more

FRESH FILM WALKS

Fresh Film Fest organizes as accompanying program film walks around the cities anually, called Fresh Film Walks. During one walk there are three locations (bridge, houses...) with three short film screenings on each one. One Fresh Film Walk will take place during the United Islands Festival this year on the the piazzeta of National Theatre. You can join us on 23th of June at 9.30PM, meeting is on Kampa Park in front of Fish Restaurant (from the river side). more

CIRCUS FREESTYLE

An interactive exhibition of urban sports – freestyle frisbee and footbag (Hacky Sack). Come and watch the masters from the Prague group Cirkus Freestyle and use your opportunity to learn from them in an interactive exhibition. more

HOPE ASTRONAUT

Hope Astronaut, a band from Olomouc (CZ), was founded in 2009 by singer-songwriter Tomáš Krejčiřík together with Mojmír Havlík (guitars), Jan "Psychyn" Sychra (bass), Radim Zetka (drums) and Kateřina Koutná (cello). They have played numerous gigs with foreign artists (Bee and Flower, David Kitt, Robotnik) as well as Czech bands like Nierika, Fiordmoss and Wotienke. more

VÁCLAV HAVELKA III SOLO (voice of Please The Trees)

Singer, songwriter, also know for performing under the alias selFbrush and lead singer for the band Please The Trees. Released several records solo and with Please The Trees of which the latest recorded in California with producer Jonathan Burnside will be released in October 2012. more

The Odyssey revisited... In her production of The Odyssey, Irina Brook and her gang of young actors give a fresh interpretation to the age-old epic: the Sirens sing the blues, Circe is a belly dancer, Hermes zips around on a scooter with wings on his back and Penelope's suitors are all one zanier than the other. All the characters of this mythic story are there. Homer's eternal tale is served up with humor and magic for the pleasure of young and old alike. more

CLOSING THE SEASON WITH THE NEW STAGE STUDIO

Whether in rain or sunshine, don't hesitate to join us in dancing. Movement is a part of our life, isn’t it? The New Stage Studio will close the season with a programme at the piazzeta, presented within the Fiesta festival. You are encouraged to join dancers and performers in this open lesson. No one cares if you are a total beginner or quite an intermediate. AIRQUARIUM

Portable pop – up underwater laboratory. Deep beneath the ocean, thick with remnants of plastic waste, sea creatures begin to evolve, adapting and morphing in their disrupted plastic eco-system. The AirQuarium, a somewhat makeshift science lab, sits on the seabed, where strange and quirky characters study, test and engineer these creatures. more

TRAINING CAFÉ LÁRY FÁRY

A one-day pop up café at the piazzeta of the National Theatre. Come and enjoy a delicious espresso, latté or cappuccino – all served by mentally handicapped people. You can also choose from a selection of treats that the mentally handicapped bake in their special training bakery. more
