Yegor Lanovenko's Badly Named Hotels project draws upon the heritage of poetic singer-songwriters such as John Martyn, Leonard Cohen and Simon and Garfunkel. Combining lyrics of love, lust and frailty with the classic sound of a single acoustic guitar, there is an originality and vibrancy about his songs that grabs the audience's attention, and enough variety in song styles to keep it. Occasionally joined by long-time friend Stanislav Beneš on ukulele, Yegor presents his songs with good humour and a ready glass, inviting listeners to join him in his creative world. more
