An evening with Robert Wilson

In an exceptional performance of nearly three hours, director and artist Robert Wilson invites us into his astonishing aesthetic universe. Combining hundreds of striking images from through his prolific career, Wilson provides an intimate self-portrait of his creative process. At the conclusion of the performance, the audience is invited to explore Mr. Wilson’s ideas further during an informal question-and-answer period. more

REEN/SACREBLEU

Václav Kuneš and Nataša Novotná will present two new shows, Reen and Sacrebleu. The former was created by Kuneš and is inspired by personal experience of how one plans and prepares coming back to a well known place and how, eventually, one really lives through it. Nataša Novotná´s Sacrebleu, then, is a surreal vision of a web of diverse powers that on the everyday bumpy road strengthen those who walk alone. more

The theme for the show Rendez-vous is a dark encounter between a Matador and Death. The French stage director Jean-Pierre Aviotte dealt with the exclusive event of a south-French corrida, the meticulous preparation of the matador and the bullfight itself. It resulted in a fascinating scenic patchwork of filmic, musical, choreographic and acrobatic extravaganza. more

PERSISTENCE OF LOSERS

For the first time the New Stage will host the ensemble Dekka Dancers the core members of which are Tom Rychetský and Viktor Konvalinka, members of the National Theatre Ballet. Persistence of Losers is a night composed of four choreographies: Jakstohoven and its follow up choreography Jakdvestě; White is Colour of Sorrow choreographed by Hana Turečková to Alfred Schnittke music; and a premiere of the piece Obstinacy of the Lost created by Rychetský and Konvalinka in co-operation with Pavel Hejný, a photographer and media artist. more
