A Small hour ago started as a trilogy based on three duets. It is about accepting crucial occurrences that define the course of our life. There are moments which we are trying to recall again and again and others that we try very hard to forget. Accepting, the process of it, has been an important source of inspiration for this work. EXTREME

A mixed bill consisting of three works by renowned creators – Jiří Kylián and Petr Zuska. The performance’s overarching theme is EXTREME, in the sense of various shades of meaning of this notion. Extreme – as something clear-cut, being out of control and beyond established rules of the common view of functioning, communication. Extreme – as a connection of the unconnectable. Extreme – striking our perception with unusual aspects and forms of absurdity, shock, Minimalism. Extreme, which in the final analysis may be closer to our true existence than the majority greyness and the average of tried-and-tested aesthetics and ethics. more

COCKTAIL 008

The best moments of these past years’ shows at the Laterna magika depicted in one patchwork evening performance. A fresh shower of dynamic rhythm, playful motions and lyrical passages, framed in an appealing video-collage. The first part of the evening is composed of a selection of the audience’s most appreciated scenes, the second part is devoted to the newest creations, it also presents in a peculiar manner the now world-famous principles of the Laterna magika through a retro revue. more

PERSISTENCE OF LOSERS

For the first time the New Stage will host the ensemble Dekka Dancers the core members of which are Tom Rychetský and Viktor Konvalinka, members of the National Theatre Ballet. Persistence of Losers is a night composed of four choreographies: Jakstohoven and its follow up choreography Jakdvestě; White is Colour of Sorrow choreographed by Hana Turečková to Alfred Schnittke music; and a premiere of the piece Obstinacy of the Lost created by Rychetský and Konvalinka in co-operation with Pavel Hejný, a photographer and media artist. more

A play inspired by religious Kabala visions and rituals. Channan, a poor eager student of Kabala, resorts to mystical rituals and finally signs a contract with Devil. WONDERFUL CIRCUS
